Working on a tutorial

So. I'm working on a tutorial for modding up some Tyranid Hive Guard from Warrior and Carnifex pieces. I still need to take pictures, though. (Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures during construction - Oops.) I was just too stoked to have them join my army.

So, until I get more Carnifex pieces, you're stuck with pictures from the Warrior sprue.

We'll make due, however.

Cheers!

Getting Started

So. Here we are... at the beginning, I suppose. It's a starting point at any rate.

I am here to talk about craft projects - Warhammer 40k projects in specific. I will start with coming into the war gaming scene with multiple years of being a custom artist under my belt (and a whole box of paint and other goodies that are not from Citadel). I won't be talking about how to do a perfect Citadel paint job. Not my deal. They look just fine... but they don't achieve what I'm looking for.

What you are here for is still to be determined. Presumably you are here because you keep seeing the same tutorials online that I have. I finally gave up on 'plastic' glue, super glue, lapidary files and instruction sheets - I pulled out the Dremel tool, two part epoxy, plumber's putty, mica and heavy body latex paints.

We are going for a massive re-evaluation of this whole project scenario.

What we won't be talking about: Rules, Editions (unless it relates to which edition of a model looked cooler), details. We are here to have fun!

So. Here we are. Enjoy the ride.

PS. The sig came from my boyfriend, who keeps bringing me his minis during a game with the declaration of them needing 'field surgery'.
